Hey there, Pune! It looks like winter has finally arrived, and it’s making its presence known with some seriously cold temperatures. On Monday morning, Shivajinagar shivered at a bone-chilling 7.8°C, while NDA and Shirur saw even lower temperatures of 6.1°C and 6.2°C. Brrr!

But this cold snap didn’t just come out of nowhere. According to the experts at the India Meteorological Department (IMD), northerly winds have been sweeping through the state, causing the mercury to plummet. However, don’t worry too much – warmer temperatures are on the horizon as easterly-southeasterly winds are expected to bring some much-needed moisture to the region.

The chill wasn’t just limited to Pune – Dhule saw a teeth-chattering 4.1°C, while Niphad in Nashik district hit 6.1°C. Even Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar felt the freeze with a minimum of 8.8°C, almost four degrees below normal. Looks like everyone in Maharashtra is reaching for their warmest blankets!

Despite the cold, there is some good news for those of us who prefer not to feel like human popsicles. The IMD predicts that temperatures will gradually rise over the next few days, so we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief. Just remember to bundle up and stay warm – winter is definitely here to stay!
