Hey Pune folks, here’s some news for you! The District Administration is demanding a whopping Rs 500 crore from the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) to acquire 200 hectare of land for the proposed Ring Road project. This project aims to tackle the traffic issues in Pune, so it’s definitely a big deal.

District Collector Dr Suhas Diwase is on top of things, stating that the land acquisition is in its final stage. They have asked for the funds to be able to acquire the necessary land immediately. And here’s a little bonus – landowners will get a 25% higher compensation if they hand over their land before December 15. So, if you own land in the east or west areas of the proposed Ring Road, you might want to consider this offer.

A recent meeting was held by Dr Suhas Diwase with the Land Acquisition Coordinator and Officers to discuss the delays in land acquisition. Apparently, 90% of the land needed for the project has already been acquired, with just 206 hectare remaining. The District Administration is now focused on getting the remaining land and has asked for financial support from the MSRDC.

So if you’re in the eastern talukas like Purandar, Bhor, Haveli, Mulshi or Maval, or in the western talukas of Khed and Maval, keep an eye out for any updates on the land acquisition process. And if you’re a landowner, consider taking advantage of the higher compensation offer before it’s too late. Let’s hope this Ring Road project can help ease the traffic congestion in Pune soon!
