Good news for Pune residents! The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) is ramping up its fleet of electric buses (e-buses) in the Pune division. Currently, there are 43 Shivneri and 27 Shivai buses operating in Pune, but the number of Lalpari buses has decreased, leading to an overall reduction in the total number of buses.

To address this issue, the MSRTC administration has announced that 134 new e-buses will be added to the Pune division’s fleet in the next two months. Pramod Nehul, Division Controller of Pune Division, expressed optimism about the new e-buses, stating that they have received a positive response on routes such as Solapur, Kolhapur, Nashik, and Chh. Samabhaji Nagar.

The focus on increasing the number of e-buses is part of the corporation’s efforts to reduce pollution caused by diesel-run buses. With the State Government offering concessions to various groups of passengers, such as women and senior citizens, the number of daily passengers has increased. Passengers have been responding well to the e-buses, particularly on routes from Pune to Solapur, Kolhapur, Nashik, and Chh. Sambhaji Nagar.

Overall, the addition of new e-buses is expected to not only benefit the corporation but also provide much-needed relief for passengers in Pune. Keep an eye out for these eco-friendly buses on the roads soon!
