- Kumar expressed his commitment to making Pune a drug-free city, citing the recent bust of a Rs 3,600 crore drug racket. He stressed the importance of maintaining a strong stance against criminals and creating a safe environment for all residents, especially the elderly and women.
- The Commissioner also addressed the issue of safety at hills in Pune, noting that many areas lack proper lighting and security measures. Plans are being discussed with the Pune Municipal Corporation to improve lighting and reduce crime rates in these areas.
- In light of recent incidents such as the Bopdev Ghat gangrape case, a scheme is being developed to enhance security at 22 hills in and around Pune. This initiative aims to increase safety for residents and visitors alike.
