- Last year, the Pune Literature Festival saw a record-breaking 450,000 attendees who spent a whopping ₹11 crore on books. This year, the event was even more successful, attracting over 1 million people, with a significant number being youth and children. The festival also saw the participation of 1.5 lakh school and college students, making it a truly inclusive event.
- The festival also made waves on social media, reaching over 10 million online viewers. Four world records were set during the event, including a stunning sculpture of the Indian Constitution’s cover made from 97,020 books to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Constitution. Over 100 books were launched, and more than 1,000 authors took part in the festival.
- The newly introduced Literature Festival featured over 50 national and international dignitaries, hosting 35+ sessions that attracted large crowds. As a gesture of goodwill, around 1.5 lakh books were distributed as gifts to readers, further promoting the love for literature.
- Rajesh Pandey, the organizer of the festival, expressed his excitement over the success of the event, stating that it has set the stage for elevating it to an international level. With the aim of establishing Pune as the “City of Books,” the future looks bright for the Pune Literature Festival.
