Chakan Police Task Force Cracks Down on Illegal Bangladeshi Residents
In a recent operation led by Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Choubey, the Chakan Police Task Force successfully apprehended two Bangladeshi nationals for residing illegally within the city limits. The operation was prompted by intelligence reports pointing to unauthorized stays by foreign nationals in industrial areas.
On December 23, officers from the Wakad Police Station and the Chakan Anti-Terrorism Cell (ATC) received a tip-off about Bangladeshi nationals working as housekeeping staff at Sairaj Lodging near Alandi Phata. Acting on the information, a team of police, led by Senior Inspector Pramod Wagh, conducted a raid and questioned two individuals – Tinku Chaudhary (31) and Khadija Khatun (24).
During the interrogation, it was revealed that the suspects had entered India illegally from the Sherpur district in Dhaka and had been residing in the Chakan area. Further investigation found that the identification documents provided by the individuals were forged. As a result, a case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Foreigners Act, 1946, and the Passport (Entry into India) Rules, 1950.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of senior officers, including Commissioner Vinaykumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner Shashikant Mahavarkar, and Deputy Commissioners Vivek Patil and Shivaji Pawar. The investigative team consisted of officers from the Chakan ATC branch, such as Senior Inspector Pramod Wagh and Sub-Inspector Ganpat Dhaygude.
The investigation is ongoing to uncover more details about the activities of the illegal residents and the network facilitating their entry into the country. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
