Hey Pune peeps, here’s a juicy piece of news for you! The Pune Division RPF recently nabbed a man who was sending fake messages about reserved ticket bookings to unsuspecting passengers at the railway station. The fraudster, identified as Praveen Kumar Madhular Londhe, was caught in the act on 23rd December 2024.

It all started when TTE G. S. Rajapure from the Jhelum Express received a tip about the scam. The Railway Administration quickly formed a team of RPF officials and a cyber cell specialist to track down the culprit. The fake messages included details like PNR numbers, train numbers, passenger names, and seat numbers, all in an attempt to scam innocent passengers.

The fraud came to light when passengers who had paid cash for their “confirmed” seats started getting into arguments over seating arrangements. The TTE alerted the authorities, leading to the arrest of Madhular Londhe. He confessed to his crimes and is now facing charges under various sections of the law.

This incident serves as a reminder to all passengers to only book tickets through official channels and to avoid falling prey to unauthorized sellers and touts. Stay safe and book your tickets directly from the railway booking windows at the stations. Stay vigilant, Pune!
