Residents in East Pune should be prepared for a day-long water supply disruption on Thursday, December 26, as maintenance work is scheduled on the Harkanagar Bhavani Peth water pipeline and the common water supply scheme at the Parvati water center. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Water Supply Department has confirmed the suspension and is urging residents to make necessary arrangements.

The water supply will be suspended throughout Thursday and is expected to resume on Friday, December 27. However, residents in the affected areas should anticipate delays and low water pressure during the initial restoration period.

The areas that will be impacted by the water cut include Parvati MLR Tank Area, Shankar Sheth Road Area, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road Area, and various central and eastern localities such as Guruwar Peth, Budhwar Peth, and Nana Peth. Other affected areas include Lohia Nagar, Ghorpade Peth, the vicinity of General Arun Kumar Vaidya Stadium, and parts of Parvati Darshan and Mitramandal Colony.

To minimize inconvenience during the water cut, residents are advised to store an adequate amount of water beforehand, plan their water usage efficiently, and stay updated with announcements from PMC regarding the restoration of water supply.

While the temporary disruption may cause some inconvenience, the maintenance work is necessary to ensure a more reliable water service in the future. The PMC is committed to restoring normal water supply as quickly as possible and anticipates improvements following the completion of the maintenance work.
