Hey there, folks! Big news coming out of Mumbai today – the Maharashtra State Government is really stepping up its game when it comes to metro development. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is leading the charge, and it looks like things are moving full steam ahead.

Thanks to a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) worth a whopping ₹272 crore, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is getting the financial boost it needs to push forward with various metro projects in Mumbai, Thane, MMR, and Pune.

After a successful meeting between Chief Minister Fadnavis and ADB officials during the Nagpur Assembly session, the loan was approved within a week – talk about efficiency! This funding is going to make a huge difference in accelerating the progress of multiple metro lines that are currently under construction.

Here’s a breakdown of where the funding is going:
– Metro-5 (Thane-Kalyan-Bhiwandi): ₹23.83 crore
– Metro-9 (Dahisar to Mira Bhayandar) & Metro-7A (Andheri to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport): ₹22 crore
– Metro-7 (Andheri East to Dahisar East): ₹27.50 crore
– Metro-4 (Kasarvadavali) & Metro-4A (Kasarvadavali to Gaimukh): ₹53.83 crore

– Metro-2A (Dahisar East to DN Nagar): ₹27.50 crore
– Metro-6 (Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli): ₹36.67 crore

The State Government’s goal with these metro projects is to tackle the increasing transportation demands of the rapidly growing urban region. Once these projects are completed, they’re expected to ease traffic congestion, enhance connectivity, and give a boost to the state’s economy.

Exciting times ahead for Mumbai’s metro system – stay tuned for more updates!
