Pune residents are in for a surprise as the city experiences an unexpected rise in temperatures this week. The minimum temperatures have shot up significantly, with Shivajinagar recording a 17.4°C minimum temperature, a drastic increase from last week. Lohgaon saw an even higher deviation, with temperatures hitting 19.4°C, much above the seasonal average. Koregaon Park and Magarpatta also experienced unseasonably warm weather, with temperatures reaching 20.9°C and 21.8°C, respectively.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that this warming trend will lead to rain, thunderstorms, and even hailstorms in the coming days. A developing weather system, combined with easterly winds drawing moisture from the Arabian Sea, is creating the perfect conditions for these weather events. The IMD has issued warnings for Friday and Saturday, with Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada expected to be affected.

The weather official explained that a western disturbance over the northern regions and a cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan are contributing to the unusual weather patterns. With relative humidity at 100% in some areas and temperatures remaining well above average, Pune is gearing up for a wet and stormy end to the week. Stay prepared for the unexpected weather ahead!
