Hey Pune peeps, did you hear about the 13th Aarogya Film Festival that just wrapped up at the National Film Archive of India? Yep, the festival, organized by the P.M. Shah Foundation and Vardhaman Pratishthan, showcased some amazing short films and documentaries on important health issues.
In the Short Film category, ‘Drushtikon’ by Dr. Sameer Datar took home the first prize for its focus on eye donation. And in the Documentary category, ‘Jeevitham (The Life)’ by Ali Arikath won the top honours for shedding light on spinal injury and safety.
The event featured 34 films covering topics like mental health, breast cancer, organ donation, and the environment. It’s great to see filmmakers using their craft to raise awareness about these critical health issues.
Actress Madhurani Gokhale Prabhulkar graced the event with her presence and highlighted the importance of addressing mental health challenges, especially in the age of social media.
The winners of the festival included ‘Drushtikon’ and ‘Jeevitham (The Life)’ in the top spots. It’s awesome to see talented filmmakers being recognized for their work in promoting health awareness through cinema.
