Hey Pune peeps, listen up! Some big changes are coming to the transportation of minor minerals in Pune District. Yep, you heard that right! Geo-fencing and GPS tracking will now be used to keep a close eye on the movement of these minerals. Kilometre markers will help determine routes, and authorities will be monitoring whether the minerals are being sold at the right places. There’s even a control room set up in the Pune District Collector’s Office to oversee all of this.
But wait, there’s more! In the rural areas of the district, sand excavation from riverbanks will be closely monitored as well. Talathis, divisional officers, and revenue officials will be using a mobile app to conduct online Panchnamas to ensure everything is above board. If any illegal transportation is spotted at excavation sites, photos can be taken on the spot, and Panchnamas can be conducted online to maintain transparency.
And that’s not all – old excavation sites will be scanned and digitized, and penalties from all across Pune District will be reviewed by the control room. Permits issued through the Maharashtra Government’s District-Level Mahakhanij Website will also be closely monitored, with an Electronic Transit Pass (ETP) required for transportation. The system will be keeping an eye out for any unauthorized unloading of sand or any transport of quantities exceeding the permitted consignment.
So, buckle up Pune, because the authorities are cracking down on illegal transportation of minerals, and they’re not messing around! Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development.
