In a tragic incident in Pune, a security guard’s wife lost her life due to injuries sustained during a violent altercation involving gunfire and stone-pelting. The incident took place in Theur area of Pune-Solapur Road and the victim has been identified as Sheetal Akshay Chavan, a 29-year-old resident of Chavan Vasti, Theur.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajkumar Shinde, has stated that charges against the three accused individuals – Bhanudas Shinde, Ajay Mundhe, and Satish alias Nana Mundhe – have been increased following Sheetal’s passing. Additionally, a country-made pistol, which was used in the incident, has been confiscated from the suspects.

The altercation occurred on December 27th, near Hotel Jai Malhar in Theur Phata. Akshay Chavan, who worked as a security guard in the area, confronted the accused individuals after they were seen urinating in a vacant plot. In response, one of the suspects fired a shot at Chavan with a country-made pistol. When Sheetal rushed to her husband’s aid, she was struck on the head by a stone thrown by the suspects, resulting in critical injuries.

Sheetal was immediately taken to a private hospital for treatment but unfortunately, she passed away on Wednesday evening. Her body has been sent for a post-mortem examination at Sassoon Hospital.

The police have apprehended the three accused individuals and are currently conducting further investigations into the case.
