Hey there, folks! It’s time for some hard-hitting news from the streets of Pune.

In a tragic incident on Saturday evening at Katraj Chowk, a young woman named Shweta Chandrakant Limkar lost her life after being hit by not just one, but two MSRTC buses. The 25-year-old, who hailed from Kagal, Kolhapur, was on her way home from work when the first bus, headed for Mahabaleshwar, collided with her. Despite wearing a helmet, the impact caused the helmet to come off, leaving her vulnerable to the second bus coming from Sangli to Swargate. The second bus ran over her head, resulting in her untimely demise.

The bus driver has been taken into custody by the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police, and a case has been registered in connection with the incident. This tragedy sheds light on the dangers of the Katraj-Kondhwa road, which has seen its fair share of accidents recently. Just a couple of days prior, a contract worker working on a PMPML bus met with a fatal accident as well.

Pune, unfortunately, has been witnessing a string of serious accidents lately. From the heartbreaking incident in Kalyani Nagar where two young IT engineers lost their lives due to a drunk minor speeding in a Porsche, to around 20 accidental deaths across the city, it’s clear that speeding and irresponsible behavior are major contributors to these unfortunate incidents.

Stay safe out there, and let’s all do our part to ensure that tragedies like these are avoided in the future.
