Hey film buffs! Get ready for an exciting cinematic experience at the 23rd Pune International Film Festival (PIFF). With 150 films from 107 countries being screened, this year’s festival promises to be a treat for movie lovers.

The festival will be held at three different venues – PVR Icon, Inox, and Cinepolis cinema, with a total of 11 screens showcasing the diverse selection of films. Dr. Jabbar Patel, the chairman of Pune Film Foundation, shared that out of the 1059 films that were submitted, more than 150 have made it to the final lineup.

For those eager to attend, online registration opens on January 15 on the official festival website, with spot registrations available at the theaters starting from February 3. And here’s the best part – the registration fee is just Rs. 800 for the entire festival, making it accessible to everyone.

An international jury will be judging the 14 finalist films in the World Cinema Competition section, vying for the prestigious ‘Maharashtra Govt Sant Tukaram Best International Film Award’ along with a cash prize of ₹10 lakhs.

Some of the notable films in the competition include ‘Darkest Miriam’ from Canada, ‘On the Invention of Species’ from Ecuador and Cuba, and ‘To A Land Unknown’ from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and more.
