Hey there, folks in Pune! Looks like we’ve got some important news coming in regarding landslide-prone villages in Satara and Pune districts. With the monsoon season fast approaching, it seems like the administration is taking some serious steps to ensure the safety of residents in these areas.

According to reports, there are two villages in Pune district and four villages in Satara district that are particularly at risk of landslides during the rainy season. To tackle this issue, the administration has decided to temporarily relocate the residents of these villages until the monsoon season passes.

To make sure everything is in place before the rains hit, the administration has categorized landslide-prone villages into sensitive, highly sensitive, and preventive measures categories. Some villages like Kondhari and Dhanivali in Bhor Taluka, Pune, and Ambeghar, Dhokawale, Shidrukwadi, and Jinti in Patan Taluka, Satara, will be relocated before the monsoon.

Preventive measures are also being implemented in other villages to prevent landslides. At a recent meeting, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Guardian Minister of Pune District, Ajit Pawar, along with Divisional Commissioner Dr. Chandrakant Pulkundwar, discussed the plans for disaster management workers in flood-prone villages.

It seems like the villagers in these areas face risks every year during the rainy season, and there have been calls for rehabilitation at government sites. While some villages have suggested private sites for relocation, the Geological Survey of India (GSI) has recommended the immediate rehabilitation of certain villages in both districts.

Dr. Pulkundwar also mentioned that various departments like Water Resources, Public Works, Agriculture, and even the Police have been instructed to coordinate with each other to ensure a smooth relocation process.

So, it looks like the administration is gearing up to tackle the landslide threat head-on this monsoon season. Let’s hope everything goes smoothly and the residents in these villages stay safe and sound. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
