Pune International Airport is currently facing delays in flight services due to an aircraft involved in an accident that has not been removed from the parking bay. The incident occurred on May 16 when the aircraft was hit by a luggage tractor trolley while being moved to the runway, with around 200 passengers onboard. Since then, the aircraft has been causing issues for other flights and delaying their schedules.

Minister of State for Civic Aviation Murlidhar Mohol is working with top officials to temporarily shift the aircraft to the Defence Ministry’s land in order to alleviate the situation. The DGCA has permitted repairs to the aircraft, and a technical team is currently on site working on the necessary repairs. However, this process is expected to take another 25 days.

Minister Mohol stated that efforts are underway to address the inconvenience caused by the aircraft in the parking bay, and he has reached out to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for assistance in relocating the aircraft. Once the aircraft is moved to the Defence Ministry’s land, it is expected that the delays for other flights will be reduced.
