  2. A 53-year-old man fell victim to a scam by a fraudster posing as a representative of a reputed company.
  3. The victim received a message on his phone offering double to triple returns on investments.
  4. The fraudster lured the victim into joining a WhatsApp group and creating an account.
  5. The victim was asked to deposit money into various bank accounts for stock market investments.
  6. Between August and October 2024, the victim deposited a total of Rs 29.40 lakh.
  7. Despite the investments, the victim did not receive any returns from the cyber thieves.
  8. The victim reported the incident to Kothrud Police Station on 12th January 2025.
  9. Police Inspector (Crime) Vikram Singh Kadam is leading the investigation into the case.
  10. Authorities are cautioning the public to be wary of such investment schemes and to verify the legitimacy of offers before transferring money.
