Hey Pune residents, have you paid your property tax yet? The Pune Municipal Corporation has raked in a whopping Rs 1,331 crore in revenue from property tax, with the majority of payments coming in through online transactions. It seems like more and more property owners are opting for the convenience of paying their bills online, with over 4.94 lakh property owners shelling out Rs 808 crore through the online mode.

And here’s a fun fact for you – property owners can get up to a 10 per cent discount on their property tax if they pay it in the first two months of the financial year. However, citizens were clamoring for an extension to this period, and the PMC graciously extended the deadline till June 15. But alas, that ship has sailed, and the deadline is now over.

As of June 17, the PMC has already pocketed Rs 1,330 crore in property tax revenue, with a whopping Rs 1.93 crore coming in on that day alone. With over 7.31 lakh property owners already paying their bills, there are still around 5 lakh citizens who have yet to settle their dues. The PMC is hoping to collect over Rs 2,800 crore in property tax this year, and it seems like the trend of paying online is catching on, with 68 per cent of property holders opting for the online payment route.

So, if you haven’t paid your property tax yet, now might be a good time to do so before you incur any late fees. Happy paying, Pune!
