Hey folks, some heartwarming news coming your way from the Central Railway! A total of 12 staff members were recently honored with Safety Awards for their exceptional dedication to ensuring safety in train operations.
The awards were handed out to 3 staff members from Mumbai Division, 4 from Bhusaval Division, 2 from Solapur Division, 2 from Pune Division, and 1 from Nagpur Division. Each awardee received a medal, commendation certificate, a citation of exemplary safety work, and a cash prize of ₹2000.
One of the awardees, Anup Kumar Yadav, a Track Maintainer from Uruli, Pune, deserves a special mention. On 20.12.2024, he noticed a hot axle on a coach of a passing train and immediately sprang into action, potentially preventing a serious accident.
Another hero, Kuldip Maurya, a Track Maintainer from Talegaon, Pune, also showcased his quick thinking on 19.12.2024. While on gate duty, he spotted brake binding on a wagon of a passing goods train and promptly alerted the authorities, averting a possible disaster.
During the felicitation ceremony at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai, General Manager Dharam Veer Meena commended the awardees for their vigilance and dedication to their duties. He emphasized how their actions serve as an inspiration for others to prioritize passenger safety and protect railway property.
The event was attended by top officials from Central Railway, including Additional General Manager Jagmohan Garg and Principal Chief Safety Officer Chandra Kishore Prasad. It’s great to see these unsung heroes being recognized for their commitment to keeping our railways safe!
