Hey there, Pune! Looks like we’re in for some rainy weather today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for heavy rain in several districts of Maharashtra, including Pune, Satara, Ratnagiri, Raigad, and Sindhudurg.

Over the last 24 hours, Konkan, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha have seen some light to heavy showers at isolated places. Harsul in Nashik got 77 mm of rain, while Khed in Ratnagiri got 71 mm. However, Vidarbha is still waiting for the heavy downpour.

In areas where the monsoon has arrived, the rains haven’t been as intense as expected. Some places are experiencing cloudy weather with scorching sun and heat, with temperatures in Vidarbha soaring above 40 degrees Celsius. Brahmapuri in Vidarbha recorded the highest maximum temperature in Maharashtra at 41.3 degrees Celsius, with Chandrapur also seeing temperatures over 40 degrees.

A heavy rain warning has been issued for Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, and Satara districts. Additionally, there’s a warning of strong winds and lightning at isolated places in Vidarbha.

So, stay safe and dry, folks! And keep those umbrellas handy if you’re in the mentioned districts. It looks like we’re in for a wet and wild day ahead.
