If you’ve ever taken a rickshaw ride in Pune, chances are you’ve encountered some less-than-pleasant experiences. From rude drivers to fare refusal and overcharging, passengers have had their fair share of frustrations. But fear not, because the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) is here to save the day!

In response to a growing number of complaints against rickshaw drivers, the RTO has set up a dedicated helpline to address grievances. And it seems like refusal of fare is the top issue on passengers’ minds, with 65 drivers already receiving notices based on complaints received through the new service.

Gone are the days of having to trek to the RTO or send an email to file a complaint. Now, all it takes is a quick message on WhatsApp to 8275330101 to lodge your concerns. And it seems like passengers are taking advantage of the convenience, with 135 complaints already logged on the helpline.

Deputy Regional Transport Officer Swapnil Bhosale has confirmed that action is being taken against drivers involved in these complaints. In fact, a special inspection drive has been launched to ensure that rickshaw drivers are following the rules and regulations.

“The helpline has given citizens an easy way to voice their concerns. We are taking these complaints seriously and are committed to addressing them through inspections and necessary actions,” Bhosale said.

So next time you have a run-in with a less-than-ideal rickshaw driver in Pune, don’t hesitate to reach out to the RTO helpline. Your complaints could make a big difference in improving the overall rickshaw experience in the city.
