- A crime branch team led by Senior Inspector Rangnath Pawar made a significant breakthrough on January 11 in Erandwane. They apprehended a suspect named Bidkar and recovered a pistol along with live ammunition. It was discovered that Bidkar had plans to use the weapon in a land dispute with family members in Dharashiv district.
- As the investigation unfolded, Subhash Margale was also arrested for his involvement in the case. He had obtained the pistol from Sagar Dhebe, who had a close call with death in November 2024 and decided to arm himself. Dhebe had purchased seven pistols from a dealer in Madhya Pradesh and distributed them among acquaintances, including relatives and known criminals.
- Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the police, all individuals involved were apprehended, and all seven pistols along with cartridges were recovered. Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade commended the swift action taken by the police, which potentially prevented a murder from taking place.
- An FIR has been registered at Alankar police station under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita Section 111(3) and the Arms Act. The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of Assistant Police Inspector Dnyaneshwar Dhavale. The police are determined to bring all those involved in this case to justice.
