Hey there Pune peeps! Did you know that our city was once graced by the presence of none other than Donald Trump himself? That’s right, before he became the 47th President of the United States, Trump visited Pune to check out a luxury apartment project that bore his name.
About ten years ago, Trump paid a visit to the Trump Towers project developed by Panchshil Realty in Pune. He was so impressed by what he saw that he decided to explore more investment opportunities in India’s real estate sector.
This visit eventually led to a partnership between Trump and Panchshil Realty, resulting in the construction of two stunning 23-story twin towers in Pune. These towers are now known for their distinctive black glass architecture that is synonymous with Trump Towers around the world.
Sagar Chordia, Director of Panchshil Realty, spilled the beans on how the collaboration came about. Apparently, it all started with a teleconference in 2012 involving Donald Trump Jr. The deal was pretty much sealed during that first call, and it ended up boosting the project’s prestige and increasing property values by a whopping 20-25%.
The Trump brand definitely attracted a lot of high-end clients, with each 6,100-square-foot apartment fetching a price tag of 14 to 15 crore rupees. Some of the notable buyers included the late actor Rishi Kapoor and his son Ranbir Kapoor, who snapped up three flats that are now raking in monthly rental returns of 4.5 to 5 lakh rupees.
After the success of the Pune project, the Chordia brothers even jetted off to New York to explore more partnerships with the Trump Organization. Looks like Pune’s real estate scene got a touch of Trump magic!
