Exciting news for Pune residents as the Pune Outer Ring Road project is making great progress! Land acquisition is set to conclude by March 2025, with construction expected to start soon after. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation has set a goal for the project to be fully operational by September 2027.
During a recent review meeting led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, MSRDC Vice Chairman and Managing Director Anil Kumar Gaikwad announced revised timelines for the project. The Eastern Phase covers a 74.08-km stretch from Urse to Shivare, while the Western Phase comprises a 64.45-km circular route linking Shivare to Urse.
To speed up the land acquisition process, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has requested ₹800 crores from the state government. Funding for the project is secure, with loans already sanctioned by HUDCO.
The Pune Outer Ring Road aims to ease traffic congestion, boost connectivity, and support urban expansion. Once completed, it is expected to reduce travel time, support economic growth, and promote urban development around Pune.
With clear timelines and funding in place, the Pune Outer Ring Road project is well on its way to transforming the city’s infrastructure by 2027. Residents can look forward to improved connectivity and traffic management in the near future.
