Pune residents in Aundh were left in shock after a gang of drunkards murdered a senior citizen during his morning walk on June 13. The incident sparked outrage against the police department for their perceived inaction.

In response to the public outcry, Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar visited the spot where the attack took place and reassured residents of Aundh. He promised to do everything in his power to ensure that the culprits are brought to justice.

During his interaction with locals, CP Kumar stated that the police would be taking steps to treat the minors involved in the case as adults and ensure that they face the full extent of the law. He also mentioned plans to expedite the trial process and ensure that the family of the victim receives justice.

Investigations revealed that four of the accused in the murder case were minors, with two of them having been involved in a previous murder case and out on bail. The gang, fueled by alcohol, targeted the senior citizen for money to buy more alcohol. When he refused, they resorted to violence.

The community in Aundh remains on edge following the tragic incident, but CP Kumar’s visit and reassurances have provided some comfort to residents. The police department is now under pressure to ensure that such incidents do not happen again in the area.
