Viman Nagar residents are fed up with the ongoing road widening and traffic congestion issues plaguing their area. A group of concerned citizens from Wadgaonsheri constituency recently met with MLA Bapusaheb Pathare to address these long-standing problems. The citizens handed over detailed petitions supported by documents obtained through the RTI Act, 2005, highlighting the challenges they face due to incomplete road projects and inadequate urban planning.

According to the citizens, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been turning a blind eye to their repeated appeals for land acquisition for road widening. Despite sending emails to PMC officials on December 14, 2024, there has been no significant action taken. The citizens have urged MLA Pathare to escalate the matter to PMC Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale and Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar to ensure that the necessary funds are allocated and the work is expedited.

Key issues highlighted in the petition include the non-acquisition of land for Nagar Road widening, the incomplete Shivane-Kharadi Bypass Road project, congestion in the Viman Nagar residential area, and road width issues on various roads in the vicinity. The citizens are demanding immediate action to alleviate these problems and have suggested that the state government step in if PMC continues to cite a lack of funds.

MLA Bapusaheb Pathare has assured the citizens of his support and promised to follow up with PMC officials to address the issues at hand. The residents are hopeful that their concerns will finally be taken seriously and that relief will be on the way soon.
