Pune, 29th January 2025: In a shocking turn of events, a former senior official of Catalyst Services Solutions Partners is facing legal trouble for allegedly stealing confidential company data. Sushobhan Sarkar, along with several other ex-employees, is accused of misusing sensitive information before resigning and joining a competitor.

The complaint was filed by Sachin Shivajirao Desai, Chief Human Resources Officer of Catalyst Services, at Cyber Police Station. The investigation uncovered that Sarkar and his associates had unlawfully accessed and transferred confidential company data, breaching non-disclosure agreements.

Catalyst Services, a company providing corporate catering services, operates 120 units across India and employs over 5,000 people. The alleged data breach took place between April 6, 2020, and November 4, 2023, at the company’s office in Balewadi, Pune.

The issue came to light after a series of resignations by senior officials, including Sushobhan Sarkar, who had already started working for a competitor firm, Axon Corporate Services India, based in Mumbai. The forensic report revealed that Sarkar had used his personal email from his company laptop to transfer sensitive information, such as financial records, branding materials, and classified business documents.

The breach has caused financial and strategic losses to Catalyst Services, leading to a case being registered against Sushobhan Sarkar under relevant sections of the law. Police Inspector Swapnali Shinde is spearheading the investigation into this serious security breach.
