Hey Pune, we have some important news to share with you today. Another patient affected by Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) has sadly passed away. The victim, a 65-year-old woman from Nandedgaon, lost her battle with the disease at Sassoon Hospital after 15 days of treatment. This is the third death due to GBS in Pune and the fourth in the State.

Nandedgaon seems to be hit the hardest by this disease, with the highest number of cases in Pune. The Health Department has issued an alert as the number of GBS patients has now reached 130, with 20 of them on ventilator support. It’s important for citizens not to panic, but to take necessary precautions.

So, what exactly is GBS? It’s a rare disease where the immune system attacks the nervous system, leading to weakness in limbs and tingling sensations. In severe cases, it can even result in a stroke.

To prevent the spread of GBS, here are some precautionary measures you can take:
– Boil and filter your drinking water
– Consume clean and cooked food
– If you experience any symptoms, contact your doctor immediately

Let’s all stay alert and do our part to keep Pune safe and healthy. Remember, prevention is always better than cure!
