Hey there, Pune folks! Exciting news coming your way about the Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) that was presented in the District Planning Committee meeting. This plan is set to transform the public transport system in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the surrounding district over the next 30 years.

Covering a massive area of 20,550 sq m, the CMP includes plans for a whopping 276 km of Metro railway routes and six new BRTS routes within the PMRDA limits. The cost? An estimated Rs 1,26,489 crore! That’s a hefty sum, but it’s all in the name of improving transportation for the people of Pune.

The CMP will be implemented in three phases, with various government bodies working together to make it a reality. Two new proposals for Metro routes have already been sent to the Central government, including routes from Vanaz to Chandani Chowk and Ramwadi to Wagholi.

But that’s not all – the CMP also includes plans for a total of 276 km of Metro routes, with proposals for routes like District Court to Shewalewadi, University Chowk to Dehu Road, and Nigdi to Chakan. PMPML, which currently only caters to 10% of commuters, aims to increase its reach to 60% with the addition of 6,000 buses, including 1,625 e-buses.

In addition to the Metro and bus routes, the CMP also includes six new BRTS routes totaling 117 km within the PMRDA jurisdiction. These routes will connect areas like Ravet to Rajgurunagar, Gawali Matha Chowk to Shewalewadi, and Loni Kalbhor to Kedgaon.

Overall, the CMP is set to revolutionize public transportation in Pune and its surrounding areas. Get ready for a smoother, more efficient commute in the years to come!
