And let’s not forget about the water quota situation. While the Irrigation Department has reserved 16.32 TMC water quota till 2032 for a population of 70 lakh, the city currently only has approval for 12.82 TMC quota. That’s a bit of a gap, considering the city actually needs 24 TMC water. Yikes!
Despite these challenges, the PMC is determined to supply water equitably to all areas. The Equitable Water Supply Project aims to plug leakages and provide saved water to citizens.
