Annwesa Singh, the talented Kathak dancer and founder of the Taal Tarangini Kathak Institute in Pune, was recently honored with the prestigious Guru Samman Award for her excellence in the art of Kathak.

At the Kala Mahotsav event organized by Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Computer Application and Management and the Apni Sanskriti Foundation in New Delhi, Annwesa led seven of her young disciples to showcase their talent.

Impressively, six of Annwesa’s disciples won first prizes in the Kathak-solo category, while one secured a second prize. Additionally, their Krishna and Radha performance in the semi-classical category took home the first prize.

Annwesa herself wowed the audience with her performance of Krishna Vandana, showcasing her mastery of Kathak elements such as todes, tukde, tatkar, and chakkar.

The ceremony, attended by esteemed guests including Professor M. N. Hoda, Shri Sandeep Marwa, and Smt. Jyoti Sharma, also saw Annwesa being honored with the Nritya Sadhana Award for her dedication to the art of Kathak.

Overall, the event was a celebration of Annwesa Singh’s talent and dedication to Kathak, culminating in her well-deserved recognition with the Guru Samman Award.
