Hey there, Viman Nagar residents! Have you noticed a smoother flow of traffic on Nagar Road lately? Well, that’s all thanks to the Pune Traffic Police’s new rotary system introduced to tackle the congestion at the Kharadi-Viman Nagar stretch.
It seems like the folks at the Association of Nagar Road Citizens Forum have been listening to our commuter woes. Qaneez Sukhrani, the Convenor, pointed out how the four-to-five-lane buildup of vehicles turning into Viman Nagar was causing major headaches for everyone trying to get through Nagar Road during rush hour.
But fear not, because a solution is here! Vehicles coming from Pune now take a U-turn at Somnath Nagar, while those coming from Kharadi make their U-turn at AGNI. And guess what? The initial feedback from the first day of implementation looks promising, with traffic flowing smoothly.
However, there’s always room for improvement. Suggestions have been made to install blinkers at the U-turns and put up clear signage to guide straight-moving vehicles. The goal is to make sure everyone stays in their lane and avoids any conflicts with those making the U-turn.
So, keep an eye out for these changes as the trial period continues for the next 15 days. And don’t forget to share your feedback because our voices matter in making our daily commute a little less stressful. Cheers to smoother roads ahead!
