The Pune Railway Division has been bustling with activity as over 50,000 devotees make their way to Prayagraj for the Kumbh Mela. This influx of passengers has led to a whopping revenue of ₹5 crore in just 20 days, showcasing the immense popularity of this religious event.

Regular train tickets are completely booked, and online reservations are no longer available due to the overwhelming demand. To cater to the surge in passengers, the Pune Railway Division has introduced a number of special trains to handle the rush. From the daily Danapur Express to the weekly special trains and Kumbh Mela specials, around 12 to 13 trains are now running daily from Pune to Uttar Pradesh.

The revenue generated from ticket sales has exceeded expectations, reaching over ₹5 crore between January 1 and January 20, 2025. With regular tickets sold out, passengers are exploring alternative travel options to ensure they can partake in the Kumbh Mela festivities.
