As part of the ‘Housing for All’ initiative in Maharashtra, the government has announced the second phase of housing projects that aim to provide affordable homes to those in need. The projects will fall under four categories: individual homes, partnership-based affordable homes, rental housing, and interest subsidy schemes.
One of the main focuses of this phase is to address challenges faced in previous projects, such as the lack of proper roads leading to the homes. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is taking steps to ensure that these issues are resolved before the homes are allocated.
The homes will be reserved for sanitation workers and individuals with an annual income of less than ₹6 lakh. To be eligible for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme, families must meet certain criteria:
– Annual family income should not exceed ₹6 lakh
– Registration on the Unified Web Portal is mandatory
– ₹1.5 lakh subsidy from the central government and ₹2 lakh from the state
– Homes will range from 30 sq.m. to 45 sq.m.
Several housing projects have been proposed in different areas of Pune:
– Balewadi: 296 homes
– Dhanori: 676 homes
– Kondhwa: 736 homes
– Hadapsar: 2,000 homes
– Vadgaon Khurd: 465 homes
These projects aim to provide quality housing options for those who need it most, and the government is taking steps to ensure that the process is transparent and accessible to all eligible individuals.
