Hey Pune folks, it’s that time of the year again – monsoon season! But along with the pleasant rains, comes the dreaded dengue fever. In Sada Anand Nagar, Mangalwar Peth, the number of suspected dengue patients has been on the rise, with 20 cases recently being identified. Yikes!

But fear not, the PMC Health Department is on the case. They have sprung into action and started preventive measures in the area to contain the spread of the disease. Dr. Suryakant Devkar, Assistant Health Officer of the PMC, assured that all necessary steps are being taken to treat the patients and prevent further cases.

In a recent survey, it was found that 63 suspected cases of dengue have been reported in Pune this month, with 21 of them popping up just this week. That’s a concerning number, but the Health Department is working tirelessly to curb the outbreak. So far this year, a total of 393 suspected cases of dengue have been recorded, along with 9 cases of Chikungunya. It’s definitely time to be extra cautious and take necessary precautions.

The PMC has also been cracking down on mosquito breeding sites in residential and commercial areas. They have issued notices to 560 establishments and collected fines totaling Rs 1,06,600. It’s clear they mean business when it comes to keeping Pune safe from mosquito-borne diseases.

So folks, stay safe, keep your surroundings clean, and watch out for any symptoms of dengue. Let’s work together to fight this disease and ensure a healthy and happy monsoon season in Pune!
