1. PCMC to Enhance Road Infrastructure: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has unveiled a new initiative aimed at improving road infrastructure in the city. The project will include the construction of safe footpaths, organized parking facilities, and a proper rainwater drainage system. Additionally, a road divider and a dedicated cycle track will be built to ease traffic congestion and reduce fuel consumption for residents. The project is expected to be completed within 30 months.

Self-Help Groups to Maintain Toilets: Several self-help groups, including Janhavi Mahila Bachat Gat, Shubhashree Mahila Bachat Gat, and Savitribai Phule Self-Help Women’s Bachat Gat, have been entrusted with the responsibility of cleaning and maintaining community and public toilets in the city.
  3. Sewage and Drainage Upgrades: The PCMC has approved plans to upgrade the water drainage system in areas under the Kasarwadi Sewage Treatment Plant, which includes Dighi, Bopkhel, Nigdi Gaothan, Nigdi Authority, Ganganagar, and Akurdi.
  4. Hot-Mix Asphalt Resurfacing: Several roads in Ward Nos. 1, 6, 8, 25, and other areas such as Chakrapani Vasahat, Devkar Vasti, Shelarnagar, Patilnagar, and newly acquired roads in Tathawade, Punawale, and Wakad will undergo resurfacing with hot-mix asphalt.
  5. Stormwater Line and Road Works: New stormwater lines and related works will be developed in Chikhali, Sainagar Mamurdi, and Kudalwaadi-Pawarvasti. Concrete roadworks are also planned for Pimple Saudagar and Rahatani.
  6. New Fire Station in Akurdi: A new fire station will be constructed near Hedgewar Bhavan in Akurdi to improve emergency response and public safety. The project, estimated at ₹30.64 crore, will feature a 10-floor building with six fire engines and is set for completion in 18 months. This new facility is expected to enhance the city’s firefighting capabilities and reduce the risk to life and property during fire incidents.

    These developments highlight PCMC’s dedication to enhancing urban infrastructure and providing better civic amenities for its residents.
