If you’ve been living in Mohammad Wadi or Undri, you’ll be thrilled to hear that the nerve-wracking issue of a dangerously hanging high-voltage power line and its tower is finally being addressed. It’s about time, right? The project, situated on the bridge between Dorabji Paradise and Lavanya Restaurant, has been a cause of concern for the past five to six years. But now, thanks to the collaboration between the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the Maharashtra Power Transmission Company, things are finally moving in the right direction.

Local hero Ashok Mehendale, who has been championing this cause, couldn’t be happier. He’s been pushing for this for so long, and now, his efforts are finally paying off. “I’m thrilled to see that the work has finally started. It’s going to make our commute so much safer,” he shared.

With a budget of ₹1.82 crore allocated to this project, there have been some bumps along the way during the tendering process. But now, we’re on track for completion in just a month and a half. Once this project is done, it’s going to make a world of difference in terms of safety and infrastructure in the area. Finally, our concerns as local commuters are being addressed.

Mehendale is a firm believer in the power of citizen action and perseverance. “We’ve shown that when we come together and push for change, it can happen. This is a victory for all of us,” he remarked.

The residents of Mohammad Wadi and Undri are over the moon about this news. We can’t wait for a smoother and safer commute in the near future. It’s about time our voices were heard and our concerns addressed.
