PCMC Cracks Down on Illegal Encroachments in Chikhali-Kudalwadi Area

In a recent move, PCMC has taken action against nearly 5,000 establishments in the Chikhali-Kudalwadi area for illegal encroachments. This region has been known for unauthorized commercial activities, leading to multiple fire incidents and environmental hazards. With the support of Deputy Commissioner Manoj Lonkar and Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Shivaji Pawar, the municipal administration is determined to address these issues.

The initial encroachment action faced resistance from local business owners and residents, resulting in a temporary suspension. However, following the expiration of the notice period, PCMC has resumed the operation with increased security measures. In a surprising turn of events, internet services in the area have been disrupted, although the cause remains unclear.

PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh has emphasized the importance of tackling illegal establishments in the city, starting with Chikhali-Kudalwadi. Many unauthorized businesses operate in the area without necessary approvals, posing safety and environmental risks. The administration plans to extend the crackdown to other parts of the city as well.

Chairman of the Chikhali-Moshi-Pimpri Chinchwad City Housing Society Federation, Sanjivan Sangale, has expressed support for the drive, acknowledging the longstanding encroachment issues in Kudalwadi. Residents and local organizations are backing PCMC’s efforts to address these critical issues.

As the anti-encroachment drive continues, further updates are expected, with ongoing police monitoring and the possibility of expanding the operation to other areas in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Stay tuned for more developments on this important issue.
