The crackdown on unauthorized structures in Kudalwadi continues as the PCMC, along with the police force, demolishes sheds, factories, and warehouses built on land reserved for development. Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh and Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Chaube are leading the charge.
Today’s operation involved the Building Permission and Unauthorized Construction Control Department, along with rapid response teams from different zones. Key officials such as Additional Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil and Deputy Commissioner Manoj Lonkar were present, along with a team of engineers and other personnel.
The police presence was also significant, with senior officers overseeing security measures. Around 600 police officers, 180 Maharashtra Security Force personnel, and labor staff collaborated with PCMC teams. Heavy machinery like excavators, JCBs, and cranes were used for demolition, supported by firefighting vehicles and ambulances on standby.
The progress of the anti-encroachment drive in Kudalwadi has been substantial:

– Built-up Space Cleared: 120.72 lakh sq. ft.
