The recent discussion in the Rajya Sabha about the expansion of Rajdhani Express services shed light on the demand for a dedicated Pune-Delhi route. While the Railway Minister acknowledged the request by BJP MP Medha Vishram Kulkarni, he clarified that Pune already has ample connectivity to Delhi through existing train services.

With eight train pairs currently operating between Pune and Delhi, including a Duronto and seven mail/express trains, the need for a specific Rajdhani Express route is not an immediate priority. The decision to introduce new services, such as a Rajdhani Express, is based on various factors like passenger demand, operational feasibility, and the availability of resources.

Rajdhani Express routes are typically established to connect national and state capitals based on demand, ensuring efficient and comfortable travel for passengers. While the Pune-Delhi Rajdhani route may not be in the works at the moment, passengers traveling between the two cities can still enjoy reliable and convenient train services.
