Female passengers at Pune’s Lohegaon International Airport are speaking out about the lack of sanitary napkin vending and disposal machines in the newly inaugurated terminal. With the majority of flights now operating from the new terminal, women are expressing their concerns over the impact on their health and hygiene.
In response to these complaints, the airport administration has promised to install around 20 to 22 sanitary napkin vending machines and disposal units in the women’s restrooms at the new terminal. Santosh Dhoke, Director of Pune International Airport, confirmed the plan, stating that the machines will be in place soon.
While the old terminal had these facilities in place, the new terminal has left female travelers feeling uncomfortable and inconvenienced. The ‘Disha’ project, which aims to make the airport more passenger-friendly, may incorporate these vending machines as part of its initiatives.
Passengers are hopeful that the airport authorities will take swift action to ensure that basic hygiene facilities are provided for all travelers.
