With the Palkhi processions of Jagatguru Sant Tukaram and Santshreshta Dnyaneshwar Maharaj just around the corner, Pune District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase has taken proactive measures to maintain peace and order during the upcoming religious events.

The schedule for the Palkhi processions has been carefully planned, with designated Dry Days announced for specific areas where the processions will pass through. This decision aims to prevent any untoward incidents during the festivities.

Starting from Dehu Gaon on June 28th, Jagatguru Sant Tukaram’s Palkhi will make its way towards Pandharpur, with overnight halts at various locations along the route. Each stop will be marked as a Dry Day, ensuring that the procession moves smoothly without any disruptions.

Similarly, Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s Palkhi will commence from Alandi on June 29th, with Dry Days enforced in the areas where the procession will halt. This strict enforcement will help in maintaining the sanctity of the religious processions and prevent any unlawful activities.

To ensure the success of these Dry Days, Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad police have been instructed to monitor the processions closely and take necessary action against any violations. This proactive approach will help in maintaining the peaceful conduct of the Palkhi processions and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
