Pune is set to undergo a major transformation with the construction of underground twin tunnels connecting Yerawada and Katraj. This ambitious project, initiated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, aims to ease traffic congestion in one of the busiest parts of the city.

The project, estimated to cost Rs 7,500 crore, will feature two tunnels with three lanes each to ensure smooth traffic flow. Multiple entry and exit points will be constructed along the 20-kilometer stretch to improve access.

In addition to the tunnel project, significant funds have been allocated for the development of the Purandar airport road network, cement roads in industrial hubs, and the expansion of the road network for the ‘Urban Growth Center.’

CM Fadnavis emphasized the importance of long-term planning in the city’s development, focusing on enhancing connectivity between key roads and ensuring that new roads in developed areas can accommodate future population growth.

With the incorporation of advanced technology and a comprehensive approach to infrastructure development, Pune is on track to become a more connected and efficient city for its residents.
