Pune Metro has recently announced the launch of a new e-bike rental service in partnership with TS Switch E-Ride Pvt Ltd. This service aims to improve first-and-last-mile connectivity for commuters traveling to and from metro stations.

The e-bike service will be available at ten metro stations initially, including PCMC, Sant Tukaram Nagar, and Swargate, among others. The rental fees are competitive, starting at Rs 1.50 per minute and going up to Rs 450 for 24 hours.

With a daily ridership of 160,000 passengers, the e-bike service is expected to be a convenient and eco-friendly option for commuters. The e-bikes provided by ‘Switch E-Ride’ have a top speed of 25 km/h, a battery range of 80 km on a single charge, and a capacity for two people.

Passengers can easily book and return the e-bikes using a mobile app or QR code. The bikes can be returned to the same station or a nearby docking center, with more details about docking stations to be announced soon.

Overall, the introduction of the e-bike service is a positive step towards improving transportation options in Pune and making commuting more seamless for residents.
