- Pune’s Deputy CM, Ajit Pawar, has expressed concerns about the city’s increasing traffic congestion and the need for the Pune Ring Road project to be expedited.
- Pawar emphasized the strain on Pune’s transport infrastructure due to the addition of thousands of new vehicles each year and called for the swift completion of metro projects, flyovers, and the ring road to ensure smoother commutes for Punekars.
- Instructing officials to assess the feasibility of the Karjat-Bhimashankar-Khed-Shirur road to enhance connectivity in rural Pune, Pawar also reviewed projects such as the Pune-Nashik Greenfield Semi High-Speed Railway, the Lonavala Skywalk, and the development of regional centers for the Sarathi Institution.
- Infrastructure developments like the Rewas-Reddy Coastal Highway and GST Bhavan in Wadala were also discussed during the review, with Pawar stressing the importance of inter-departmental coordination to overcome logistical challenges and meet Pune’s urban demands.
