Hey there, Pune folks! Let’s talk about the recent rainfall situation in our district. So, it looks like we’ve been getting some much-needed showers over the past few weeks, which has led to a slight increase in water storage in our dams. As of now, we’ve got a total of 14.73 TMC of water stored, which is 1.73 TMC more than what we had just ten days ago.

But hey, before we start celebrating, let’s remember that we’re still facing a deficit of 1.32 TMC compared to last year. The rain started coming down in early June, then took a little break, but now it seems to be back in action in some parts of the district. This recent rainfall has been helping to fill up our dams, which is great news!

Overall, our dams are currently at 7.43% capacity, which is lower than the 8.09% we had at this time last year. Last year, we had a total of 16.05 TMC of water stored, while now we’re at 14.73 TMC. So, yeah, we’ve got some catching up to do in terms of water storage.

Taking a closer look at the Tata group’s dams, including Mulshi, Thokarwadi, Shirota, Valvan, Lonavala, and Vadiwale, we’ve got a total of 42.76 TMC capacity. Right now, we’ve got 7.98 TMC (18.67%) of usable reserves available, with Lonavala Dam having a particularly low 0.01 TMC of water.

And here’s a breakdown of water storage in some major dams in the district:
– Pavana Dam: 1.62 TMC
– Chaskaman Dam: 0.53 TMC
– Bhama Askhed Dam: 1.12 TMC
– Andra Valley Dam: 0.71 TMC
– Gunjawani Dam: 0.36 TMC
– Bhatghar Dam: 1.47 TMC
– Nira-Deoghar Dam: 1.06 TMC
– Veer Dam: 1.89 TMC
– Manikdoh Dam: 0.21 TMC
– Yedgaon Dam: 0.64 TMC
– Dimbhe Dam: 0.10 TMC

So, there you have it, folks! Keep an eye on the skies and let’s hope for more rain to help fill up our dams and tackle the water scarcity issue we’re facing. Stay safe and stay hydrated!
