Pune, 15th February 2025: Big news coming out of Pune as Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announces a boost for the city’s police force. At the Tarang 2025 event, Fadnavis revealed that Pune Police will be receiving 39 new four-wheelers and a slew of two-wheelers to help them tackle crime more efficiently.

In his speech, Fadnavis stressed the importance of this upgrade in improving the overall policing and response times in the city. “The goal is to support our police force in solving crimes quickly and effectively. This will help them reach crime scenes faster,” he explained to the gathered media.

The event saw the presence of Union Minister of State Murlidhar Mohol, Maharashtra Minister Chandrakant Patil, and various local MLAs and MLCs. When asked about the controversial topic of love jihad, Fadnavis brushed it off, saying, “Who is even talking about love jihad? Let’s not dwell on it.” He made it clear that the police, not the government, are responsible for handling such matters.

Tarang, an annual cultural festival organized by Pune Police, is aimed at promoting camaraderie, mental well-being, and stress relief among officers. The event includes music, dance, drama, and sports activities, giving personnel and their families a chance to showcase their talents and relax. It also helps strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community, creating a positive image of the police force in the eyes of the public.
