Hey there, Pune peeps! Big news coming your way – the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is all set to kick off work on a swanky new elevated road along the Pune-Shirur corridor. This project is part of the larger Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Road and aims to tackle the pesky issue of traffic congestion on Pune-Nagar Road.
The 53-kilometer project will be done under the Design, Finance, Build, Operate, and Transfer (DFBOT) model through a public-private partnership (PPP). If you’re interested in getting in on the action, MSRDC is currently accepting expressions of interest.
But wait, there’s more! As part of the Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar NH 753F highway enhancement initiative, the first phase will see the construction of the elevated road from Pune to Shirur, followed by upgrades to the Ahilyanagar-Devgad Road.
And if that wasn’t enough, MSRDC has some grand plans for a Greenfield highway linking Shirur to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The entire Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar highway will stretch a whopping 250 kilometers, with the Pune-Shirur section featuring an elevated roadway built over the existing highway.
The cherry on top? The project’s estimated cost is a cool Rs 20,000 crore and will seamlessly connect with the Samruddhi Mahamarg at the Shendra MIDC region, giving regional connectivity a major boost. So mark your calendars – the deadline for bid submissions has been extended to 28th February. Time to get those creative juices flowing and be a part of Pune’s road revolution!
