1. FDA officials recently busted an illegal manufacturing unit in Pune, where M/s Tykhe Healthcare India Pvt Ltd was found producing counterfeit Ayurvedic and Unani medicines. The company, in operation for 18 months, had medicines worth ₹6 lakh confiscated during the raid.
  2. To add to the drama, some of the products carried labels claiming they were manufactured by M/s Sufi Centre in Thane. However, FDA Thane confirmed that the facility had no license or authorization for such production. Talk about shady business practices!
  3. But wait, there’s more! The FDA’s investigation didn’t stop there. They followed the trail to Maloni village in Nandurbar, where they uncovered a second illegal manufacturing unit operated by Tykhe Healthcare. Medicines and machinery worth ₹6.47 lakh were seized from this unlicensed facility.
  4. Despite the fact that the unit held an FSSAI license, it turns out it was invalid for producing Ayurvedic and Unani medicines. It seems like these guys were really pushing the boundaries of legality.
  5. GD Hukare, Joint Commissioner (Drug) at FDA Pune, mentioned that while no FIR has been registered yet, investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the distribution of these fake drugs across Maharashtra. Looks like there’s more to uncover in this pharmaceutical mystery.
